Seasons of Four
Seasons are divisions of the year marked by changes in weather, ecology, and the length of daylight. They are primarily determined by the tilt of the Earth's axis as it orbits the Sun. There are typically four main seasons:
Spring: Spring occurs between winter and summer. It's characterized by warmer temperatures, the melting of snow, blossoming flowers, and the return of many animal species from migration.
Summer: Summer is the warmest season of the year, characterized by longer days, higher temperatures, and typically clear skies. It's a time when many plants are in full bloom, and outdoor activities are popular.
Autumn (Fall): Autumn occurs between summer and winter. It's characterized by cooler temperatures, shorter days, and the shedding of leaves by deciduous trees. It's often associated with harvest time and the changing colors of foliage.
Winter: Winter is the coldest season, characterized by shorter days, colder temperatures, and often snowfall in many regions. Many animals hibernate during this time, and activities such as skiing and ice skating are popular in colder climates.
The timing and characteristics of each season vary depending on the region's location and climate. For example, tropical regions may experience only two seasons (wet and dry), while polar regions may have extended periods of darkness and light.
